DIABETES
Diabetes is a disease which becomes apparent in high level of glucose in blood because of insufficient influence of insulin. Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas. Insulin can be absent in the body at all (diabetes of type I, or insulin-dependant diabetes), or there is unsufficient reaction of the cells of the body to it (diabetes of the type II , insulin-independant diabetes).
Insufficient influence of insulin leads to the following metabolic disorders: increase of glucose in blood
(hyperglycemia), glucose is deduced with urine (glyukozuriya), acid products of incorrect metabolism of fats appearin blood (ketoacidosis).
